As a senior Communication, Media, and Design major at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, this magazine (and accompanying documentary) documents my experience designing for the RPI Black Student Alliance’s annual Black History Month Fashion Show. After modeling in the show for the previous two years, I decided to step into the role of designer for the 2026 show, held on February 6 in the EMPAC Concert Hall. For my brand TALIS, I created and presented an eight-look collection made from an estimated 90% secondhand materials, including clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories. This publication serves as my capstone project, documenting the creative process behind the collection and the journey of bringing it to the runway.
