“This course introduces students to digital photography, Web design, and interactive multimedia in making art. Students broaden their understanding of such topics as composition, effective use of images, color theory, typography, and narrative flow. Building a Utopia
At the beginning of the semester, we brainstormed utopias we wanted to explore, and our first assignment was to have a photoshoot, learning how to operate a DSLR camera, then choosing and editing 3 images which showcased different camera, lighting, and shooting techniques.
The rest of the semester was spent expanding on our utopias, and I had picked focusing on a forest/fairy utopia.
There were 4 major deliverables throughout the semester:
3 Edited Photographs
2 Digital Collages
An animation based on 1 of the collages
A physical artifact
